Major at university:Machine Information Technology

As a student, W. A. studied mechatronics including machine and electrical engineering. After choosing robotic arms with artificial muscles as the theme for her graduation research, she became interested in machine design. After graduation, she joined an electronics component firm where she worked on production technology and machine design. With a desire to pursue work in a global firm, however, she decided to change jobs and joined Shinkawa Ltd. At Shinkawa, she is now able to engage in the work that she has always wanted to do, and views her move to the company as a significant step that will change her life.

Evaluating systems and dealing with customers
are important aspects of my everyday work.
In addition to pursuing more advanced technology,
my aim is to accurately meet customer needs.

I am in charge of a new product for a bonding system, which has just been released. My main task is to improve this system.

Machine design involves not only design. Evaluating equipment and responding to customers are also important aspects of my everyday work.
Conducting evaluation experiments to determine whether the equipment we designed is actually achieving the design objectives, working out solutions by closely examining problems, and repeating these processes lead to the creation of more advanced technology. In addition, regularly checking customer information and market trends, and gathering information on future trends in market growth will enable us to pursue development that accurately identifies customer needs.

On any given day, you will not find me sitting behind a desk for the entire day. The launch of equipment and experiments take place at the work site and, therefore, I spend every day involved in interesting and varied activities. My work also encompasses a very wide range of activities where I interact with people from various departments.

Even important work is assigned to junior staff,
so we are able to feel the need for each member of staff.

Many of the technologies of the bonding system I am working on are cutting-edge technologies. Work where I am constantly gaining new knowledge gives me a sense of fulfillment on a daily basis. To maintain our competitive edge over other firms, the development of new technologies by the Development Division and the acquisition of patents are essential.
Not only senior members of staff with rich experience but also junior staff participate in work efforts as a matter of course, and we have opportunities to come together and share ideas.

I believe ours is a workplace that encourages younger staff to express their opinions and is conducive to the growth of our staff. Various important tasks are assigned to junior staff. In this way, as staff members, we can all feel the need for each other. We also have an information system within the company that provides for ease of communication, and we can exchange information with other departments, which I believe is an important element in creating a very good work environment.

To be highly regarded by our customers, we always proceed with work in the company based on the concept of QCD. This means always providing products with high quality (Q) at a low cost (C), and rapid delivery (D). Working with this common understanding, we can go about our work in a pleasant atmosphere.

My ambition is to contribute to the company by obtaining at least one patent within three years of joining the company.
My aim is to go down in history as a leader in the industry.

Since I was a student, my goal has been to contribute to the firm I belong to and to become an essential employee of that firm. To be active in the international arena, which has always been my greatest aspiration, is possible for me here at Shinkawa.
I want to go forward with Shinkawa to achieve both my own professional goals and the company’s goals.

In the Development Division, our mission is to develop new technologies that do not yet exist. To achieve this, I would like to contribute to Shinkawa by obtaining at least one patent within three years of my joining the company. There are already several female managers who are playing vital roles here at Shinkawa. After accumulating a lot more experience, I hope I can go down in history as a leader in our industry.

The number of electronic devices around us has mushroomed in recent years. Because of this, the semiconductor industry will become an increasingly important presence. Work in this industry will require more advanced, more diverse technologies. I believe people who aspire to work in this area will definitely find working at Shinkawa fulfilling.
